STATUS OF IMPLEMENTATION OF
ISO?1400:
Kota Workshop has made progress in the
implementation of Environmental Management System and had planned
to get the certification by March- 2003. However, with the
current directives of Finance the progress has stalled, as tender
cases for certification have been pended for want of finance
vetting.
i)
Environmental policy and procedure manual have been issued.
ii)
Acceptance letters have been issued to M/s R.S. Certification (P) ltd.-Vadodra for
certification and M/s ICL Certification Ltd.-Punchkula-Haryana for educational training on
18.03.06.
iii)
Instruments required for monitoring environmental parameters have been received except
incubator and PH meter.
iv)
Two important requirements to comply with state pollution norms are effluent treatment
plant and incinerator. The progress is as under :
a) Incinerator :
The work was awarded to M/s B.L. Engineering-Ahemdabad on 19.09.2005.
Installation & erection has been completed. Water & electrical connection have
been
provided. Firm has been advised on 24.04.06 to arrange for trial as per RSPCB?
norms and also comply to the discrepancies noticed.
b)
Effluent Treatment Plant :
The Work was awarded
to M/s Environmental Engineering-Indore on 29.10.05 commenced on
20.01.06. The work of ETP is at completion stage. Electrical connections are being
provided to take trail to run the equipments of ETP.
c).
BIO-DIESEL.
A humble
beginning was made by planting 5 Jatropha trees near line No.16 in June-05. 100
Jatropha plants in this month and total 325 plants have been planted up to March-06
in various locations of workshop.
In the works
programme proposed for improvement in the circulating area of workshop, 1.2 Hectare area
has been kept for plantation of Jatropha trees.
